Other events in March 2008: Hong Kong ArtWalk 2008 Koru Spring Show 2008 "Goddesses, Gods, Sea and Earth" by Tanya Ashken ************************************************************************************************** The New Zealand Consulate-General in Hong Kong, with the support of Sino Group "Art in Hong Kong", Crown Worldwide, Delmaine Fine Foods and Accent Architects, is hosting "from the Edge: Contemporary Art from New Zealand", an exhibition featuring paintings, sculpture, installation art and photography by six prominent New Zealand artists, which will be open to the public for free from 17 to 31 March 2008. The works of the six artists – Gretchen Albrecht, Bill Culbert, Pip Culbert, Tony Lane, Fiona Pardington and James Ross – represent a cross-section of current art practice and a wide range of artistic points-of-view. "from the EDGE" has recently been shown in Casal Solleric, Mallorca city's premium Art Exhibition Centre, and in Valencia, Spain where it was opened by the New Zealand Prime Minister, Helen Clark, and shown in parallel with the Louis Vuitton Cup (the challenger series which preceded the America's Cup competition last June). Three of the artists - Tony Lane, Fiona Pardington and James Ross, will also give a talk about the works at 6.30pm on Tuesday the 18th of March.
